In mid-June, Distributor Wire & Cable was recognized for its excellent service to the United States Navy, particularly in championing the policies of the Navy Reserve. This honor was given at the Navy Reserve Employer Recognition Event, an annual gathering that celebrates employers who go above and beyond for Navy reservists.

At DWC, we're not just about wire and cable; we're about people—especially those who serve our nation. We proudly employ Navy reservists who balance their civilian careers with their military duties. These reservists spend weekends and annual training sessions serving our country, often requiring significant time away from their civilian roles. We see it as our duty to support these heroes in every way possible.

Our Vice President of Human Resources, Laura Kitto represented DWC at this event (Laura Kitto & Travis Williams accepting the award below). At DWC, we have two of our very own who are part of the Navy Reserve. One being Brittany Allen, Chief of Staff and Travis Williams, CEO. "We are honored to be able to attend NERE2024 and receive this high honor. People are the core of DWC, and we do everything we can to support them." - Travis Williams, CEO

The Navy Reserve Employer Recognition Event in San Diego was an all-day affair San Diego, CA. The day kicked off at 6:30 AM and concluded with a memorable reception aboard the USS Midway, stretching late into the evening. The event was packed with highlights and demonstrations of Navy Reserve capabilities.

One of the day's most captivating moments was the tour of the USS Tripoli, an amphibious helicopter landing ship. At this time, Vice Admiral John Mustin, the Chief of Navy Reserve, delivered an inspiring speech. He emphasized the indispensable support that companies like DWC provide to our nation’s reservists, culminating in the presentation of awards. DWC was recognized as an elite company in supporting the United States Navy Reserve.

The excitement didn’t stop there. Attendees were treated to a demonstration by the US Navy Marine Mammal Program, where dolphins and sea lions showcased their mine-diffusing abilities. The next event was a lunch hosted by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), the dedicated government body that advocates for the rights of reservists and National Guard personnel across the Department of Defense.

The afternoon was filled with displays, including the Navy Reserve Air Force, a Dog Squadron demonstration, and static exhibits of security boats, Navy Reserve SEALs, SEAL Team 17, and cutting-edge unmanned systems technology.

DWC is deeply honored to receive this recognition for our steadfast support of U.S. Navy Reserve sailors and employees. We extend our gratitude to the U.S. Navy Reserve and the ESGR for organizing such an extraordinary event.

To our reservists and all our employees, thank you for your dedication and service. We are proud to stand by you and support your commitment to our country. Here’s to many more years of excellence and shared success!
